Southern Hip Hop icon Luther Uncle Luke Campbell, formerly of 2 Live Crew,
uses to describe 22-year-old DJ SMALLZ. Encompassing a blend of
supreme turntable skills and marketing finesse, it’s no surprise why DJ
Smallz has quickly risen to become one of the nations premier DJs and what
has led him to the type of success that has eluded many in his field.
Born overseas, DJ Smallz moved to the state of
Florida in
his early childhood, expanding his passion for southern hip hop music. His
strong love affair with the hip hop scene switched to a passion for
turntables from percussion instruments in his early teenage years. By the
age of 18, DJ Smallz rapidly sharpened his turntable techniques, sweeping
local competition through various night club performances and a powerful
mixtape presence, garnering a profound street buzz for his passion of
southern hip hop music.
That passion for
southern hip hop music soon led to national exposure garnered from an
intense street presence of his nationally recognized
SOUTHERN SMOKE
brand. Aiding as a powerful marketing tool for many major artists, record
labels and managements, DJ Smallz played a monumental role in catapulting
major and independent Southern artists to the attention of national and
international markets.
The Southern
Smoke brand has been co-signed by some of the biggest names in the music
industry, and to date, DJ Smallz has collaborated with such established
figures as Grammy Award-winner Big Boi of Outkast, southern hip hop
pioneers UGK, Master P and Three 6 Mafia, as well as multi-platinum
superstars Lil’ Jon, Ludacris and T.I.
With the
enormous success of his Southern Smoke brand, DJ Smallz turned his talents
to the national radio scene. Every Thursday night, SOUTHERN SMOKE
RADIO dominates the airwaves and broadcasts live to more than 3
million subscribers on Sirius Satellite Radio (Channel 40 “Hip Hop
Nation”) and DISH Network (Channel 6040).
With so many
accomplishments, of course has come a bevy of media and industry
accolades. DJ Smallz has appeared on several music television shows
including MTV’s “Direct Effect” and was named one of the “Top 7 Hip Hop
DJs of 2006” in the USA Today. DJ Smallz has graced the pages of Vibe, XXL,
The Source, and New York Times, to name a few.
When the 21-year-prodigy isn't in the studio or dominating radio
airwaves, DJ Smallz may be found constructing his massively growing

advertising firm established in 2002, presently caters to a clientele of
more than 50 companies, including major and independent record labels,
several clothing companies, and various consumer products, including
beverages, movies, and video games. Other projects keeping DJ Smallz in
heavy demand include Fear Factor Music Group, DJ Smallz’ artist
development company, Southern Smoke TV, a reality television show
scheduled to hit major cable networks this summer, and the release of DJ
